Historic Events in the Comarca Lagunera

The Comarca Lagunera, which covers parts of Coahuila and Durango, has a history full of events that shaped its development.

One of the most important moments was the founding of Torreón in 1907. What started as a small settlement along the Nazas River grew into one of the most important cities in northern Mexico, thanks to its   industrial and agricultural expansion.

During the Mexican Revolution, Torreón was the site of intense battles. In 1914, Francisco "Pancho" Villa took the city in a key confrontation that strengthened his leadership in the war. This victory left a lasting mark on the region's history.

Another key event was the rise of cotton production in the Comarca Lagunera. During the 20th century, the region became one of Mexico's main cotton producers, boosting the economy and attracting investors and workers from across the country.

Today, the Comarca Lagunera remains a crucial center for industry and culture in Mexico, with a historical legacy that continues to shape its identity
